Adventure Itinerary

Day 1: Muscat – Wadi Shaab – Wahiba Sands

Explore the amazing coastline of Oman as well as one of Oman’s most stunning wadis.

From Muscat, drive along the coastal road between Quriyat and Sur making a short stop at the sinkhole, which some believe to have been created by a meteorite and is now filled with brakish water. From here, continue to one of Oman’s most famous wadis, Wadi Shab. Explore this beautiful wadi on foot and reward yourself with a refreshing swim (approximately a one-hour walk each way). If you feel adventurous, jump from a cliff into the water below!

After visiting Wadi Shab, continue to the desert camp. Check-in at the camp while enjoying some fruits and refreshments and watch the sunset from the sand dunes behind the camp.

Enjoy dinner in a typical Arabic setting and overnight at Sama Al Wasil Camp in Wahiba Sands Desert (including dinner and breakfast).

Day 2: Wahiba Sands – Wadi Bani Khalid – Muscat

Early risers can watch the sunrise from the dunes, followed by a camp breakfast. After breakfast, take the chance to explore the dunes on one of the camp’s quad bikes (one hour quad biking included in the package), or take a 30-minute camel ride.

After leaving the camp, hold on tight for an exciting dune drive through the desert with its rolling sand dunes varying in colour from red to honey. Along the way, stop at a local Bedouin house to gain insight into their way of life. You will be invited into their Majlis (sitting room) and welcomed with traditional Kahwa (Omani coffee) and tasty local dates.

After the desert exploration, drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s most beautiful wadis, famous for its lush green oases, water pools, and deep canyons. After exploring the wadi (on foot) and taking a refreshing swim, we return to Muscat.
