Al Dakhiliyah Governorate is one of Oman’s beautiful governorates where you can explore the highest and greenest mountains of Oman with specialized tour guides. The tour will take you to discover the interior of Oman starting from Birkat Al Mauz, to see the traditional Omani Falaj (irrigation system), Jabal Akhdar, to view the green mountain range, the fruit trees, and roses, then visit the old village of Wadi Bani Habib before stopping at Nizwa to explore its spectacular fort and local market.
The second day begins by driving and climbing up the highest mountain in Oman & the GCC, Jabal Shams, which is known as the "Mountain of the Sun." From your perch up high, you can admire the spectacular view of the beautiful Grand Canyon of Oman. At the end of the day, enjoy a wonderful stay and delicious dinner at the well-known Jebel Shams Resort.
The last day of the tour takes you to Wadi Bani Awf, one of the beautiful wadis in Oman, where you can discover old Omani homes and culture.

Day 1: Muscat - Jebel Akhdar - Misfat Al Abriyeen
Enjoy a pick up from a hotel in Muscat before driving to the village of Birkat Al Mauz, which is known for its crop plantation and traditional Falaj (Omani irrigation canal) that has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage listings for Oman. From Birkat Al Mauz, proceed on a scenic ride up Jebel Akhdar, the Green Mountain. Visit the picturesque old village of Wadi Bani Habib and roam through its abandoned houses giving a glimpse into how people lived in this area until recently. Jebel Akhdar is famous for its terraces with their fruit trees and roses, and you can also get a close-up view by walking from one village to the next. Your guide will be waiting for you on the other side.
After Jebel Akhdar, continue to Nizwa for a short stop at its fort and market before reaching our destination of Misfat Al Abriyeen, where you will stay overnight and enjoy an Omani dinner in a traditional guest house.

Day 2: Misfat Al Abriyeen - Jebel Shams
After breakfast, explore the beautiful village of Misfat Al Abriyeen. Wander through its lush plantation, irrigated by the traditional Falaj system, and admire the incredible way the houses are built on the side of the mountain using local stones for walls and foundations.
We continue to Jebel Shams, the ‘Mountain of the Sun’ and the highest peak in Oman, to see the Grand Canyon of Oman. From a height of nearly 2000 meters you will have a beautiful view into the canyon. Check-in at your camp before going on an exhilarating hike along the rim of the Grand Canyon (6 km, 3.5 to 4.5 hours, and local hiking guide included).

Day 3: Jebel Shams - Wadi Bani Auf - Muscat
After breakfast, cross the Higher Mountains and embark on one of Oman's most exhilarating off-road descents toward the scenic village of Bilad Said and into Wadi Bani Auf before returning to Muscat.
