Cycling is one of the best ways to discover Maramures, the mountainous and forested region in northern Romania. The rolling hills and lack of crowding on region roads link to produce ideal circumstances for an exciting cycling adventure in Romania. Maramures is a unique destination, considered by many to be the soul of rural Romania. With its individual villages, green hills and fields full of wildflowers. Maramures describes all that means life in the countryside.
Visitors to this region have the unique opportunity to go back in time, to be observers of past eras, traditions, ethical values, and lifestyle. Those asking a more challenging cycling experience can find fantastic conditions for mountain biking almost anywhere in the county though opportunities are better in the mountainous regions.
