3 days trekking from the Chiangdao mountain range to the Maetang River valley. A strenuous adventure for experienced hikers.

Doi Chiangdao mountain range lies North of Chiangmai, and this area is the home of many ethnic hill-tribe villages. This adventurous and strenuous mountain trek will take participants across the mountain range, down to the Maetang River valley. Trekkers will enjoy scenic views from the mountain ridges, as well as deep jungle and bamboo forest.
Good physical condtition.
Day 1 - Trek departure
Depart from Chiangmai to Chiangdao valley to our trek starting point. We will begin our trek with a gentle ascent until we reach a Lahu village.
Good jungle Scenery along the trail with mature trees. We finally reach our basic home-stay, located at high altitude, we spend the night. Basic accommodation in the dormitory.
Day 2 - Full day hiking
Today we hike the entire day, and that is for 6 to 7 hours. Various terrain alternating with great views, following trails on the mountain ridges and down to deep jungle. Tonight we'll stay in a Lahu village, as hosts of a local family. Your guides will cook the dinner. Overnight dormitory hut.
Day 3 - trek and back to Chiang Mai
Trek down the Maetang river valley (3 hours), mostly downhill. We will have a lunch at a peaceful riverside camp. After lunch, downtime to relax or for the more active, we can walk 15 minutes to a nearby waterfall. Return to Chiang Mai by air-conditioned vehicle. Drop off at your city hotel.
