Jebel Shams Challenge

Dear Explorer,

The Jebel Shams Challenge: Have you heard about it before?
At 3,028 meters high, Jebel Shams is the highest peak in the Arabian Gulf and the most famous in the area. The trekking routes are well maintained, marked, and considered one of the safest treks in the area. Read about my hike up Jebel Shams last year.
This April, the awesome “Jebel Shams Challenge” is back!

What is the Challenge?

The challenge is to reach the mountain’s summit and hike back down safely. It is approximately 10km up another 10km downhill. There is a cool $10,000 in prize money up for grabs that will be awarded to the winners from different categories!
Whether you’re a beginner to the mountains and would like to enjoy experience at your own pace or perhaps you are in it to win it, this is a fun experience for all!
